Meet Andy Orgovan

9/8/21 | Church Articles | by Pastoral Council

My name is Andy Orgovan and I am a member of your Pastoral Council at St Dominic Catholic Parish. My wife Nora and I have been members of here since we moved to Brookfield from Milwaukee in 1997. Five of our six children graduated from St Dominic Catholic School. Even though all our children are now adults, we still have a special love for St Dominic School and strongly support its ongoing mission of educating the next generation of Catholic disciples of Jesus Christ.

Over the years, St Dominic has become more than just a parish at which we attend weekend Masses. It quickly became our spiritual family. We have witnessed first-hand the tremendous generosity and Christian compassion extended to those in need both within and outside our parish. We have grown spiritually as we experienced many wonderful liturgies that have moved our hearts and called us to a greater relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church.

In response to our parish mission statement to Seek Christ, Know Christ, and become Christ, we have served in many different capacities over the years. Nora worked in the School cafeteria and dedicated herself to many behind-the scenes tasks that needed to get done in the school or parish. I was a catechist for high school age students for over a decade. In addition, I also served on the then St Dominic School Board. I served on the Pastoral Council under Fr. Dave Reith and was president of the council during our Vision 2012 capital campaign that had a tremendous impact on our parish campus and school. I am currently president of the St. Dominic Conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul and past Grand Knight of Holy Spirit Council 4648 that serves St Dominic.
