Mental Health Series Part 2

Mental health is an important part of our overall well-being. It influences our ability to care for ourselves and others, make healthy choices, prioritize what is most important, and relate to our friends, family, and God. Unfortunately, the pandemic has taken quite a toll on our psychological health.

Human beings are complex, and so are our emotional responses to the pandemic. Coping with a cascade of negative emotions such as uncertainty, fear, sadness, grief, irritability, anger, and hopelessness – coupled with social isolation, physical illnesses and deaths, economic difficulties, and worry about the health of loved ones – can feel overwhelming. Moreover, our typical ways of coping may not be possible during these times.

In this segment, Fr. Dennis Saran and parishioner Dr. Lynne Knobloch-Fedders, a clinical psychologist and faculty member at Marquette University focuses on helping teens, young adults, and their parents.
