Lenten Outreach 2022
This year, we are partnering with St. John Paul ll Parish in Milwaukee for our Lenten Outreach. It is the childhood parish of Fr. Aaron Laskiewicz, where he received and was nourished in his vocation. St. John Paul ll Parish was the result of the merging of three parishes: St. Alexander, St. John Kanty, and St. Helen. It’s predominately of Polish and Hispanic heritage. It is one parish with two sites and two schools. They have a population of 2100 families. Annually, they have about 120 First Communicants, 10-25 converts, 25-30 weddings, and an average of 60 receiving confirmation. Their food pantry, which is solely replenished by members of the parish, serves 80 families a month. We will be working three weekends during the Lenten Season, tackling the huge job of painting the two schools, refinishing the pews in the churches, organizing, and cleaning.
Join us on this journey. There are opportunities to get involved either by joining us on site, providing lunch for the volunteers, donating items for a special collection, making a monetary donation, and praying for the safety and success of this outreach. Please open your hearts this Lent to St. John Paul ll Parish who is struggling and operating with a deficit budget. We can make a difference.
Sign up online today to help, or contact Pastoral Associate, Mary Lestina, at 262.781.3480, Ext. 225. Please sign up to help with our projects. We are discouraging walk-ins in order to ensure that everyone who has signed up has a task.
