Meet Your Pastoral Council - Ellen Kloth

Hello. My name is Ellen Kloth. My husband Jim and
I have been members of St. Dominic Catholic Parish for about five years. Last year we celebrated fifty years of marriage. I believe our marriage is strong because we had our moms, dads, and many aunts and uncles constantly praying for us.

We volunteer as a FOCCUS couple. For those that do not know what that is, FOCCUS is a pre-marriage inventory. It is designed to have the young couple discuss tough and not so tough issues prior to marriage. We walk with the couples as they discuss many of the issues in the inventory. It is a fun way to get to know young couples and reminisce and even laugh about all the fights we had as a young couple.

A few years back, I became aware that my faith had a twelfth-grade education.
I needed to grow. I enrolled in a weekend class for lay-ministry at Cardinal Stritch. The more I learned the more I wanted. I have always considered myself a private worshipper but felt I was being called to be more visible. I am still a bit timid about sharing my faith and even a bit shy about public prayer. If you see me, ask me to pray for you. It may be out of my comfort zone but I’ll get used to it. I would love to get to know you and what better way to do so than to pray for and with you.
