Today, I am excited to share our Mission, Vision, and Values with you. You may have noticed some new artwork that has been installed highlighting these guiding principles. We’ve been sharing them for a while now—perhaps you’ve seen them in the 2025 parish calendar, the bulletin, or on the banners in the narthexes.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to explore them, I encourage you to take a moment after Mass to check them out. You can also visit our website to learn more. For now, I’d like to explain the purpose of these statements and read them to you:

• Our mission statement defines the core purpose of our parish. It explains why we exist and the goals we strive toward.

Our Mission at St Dominic has been and continues to be: To seek Christ, know Christ, and become Christ, each one for the sake of all.

• Our vision statement describes the future aspirations of our parish. It paints a picture of what we hope to become in the long term and inspires us to work together toward a common goal.

Our Vision is: To be a spiritual home that radiates the love of God, overflows with the power of the Holy Spirit, and joyfully leads others to Christ.

• Values are the principles that guide our actions and decisions. They reflect what is important to us and shape the culture and community of our parish. Our values ensure we remain true to our mission and vision.

Our Values at St Dominic are:

• Pursue Holiness
• Nurture Community
• Embrace Compassion
• Bear Witness

These guiding principles are vital because they clarify our purpose and unify our efforts as a parish, helping us live out our discipleship together.

A lot of thought and prayer went into developing these statements and we’ve created a Reflection Guide available online or in the narthexes for anyone who wants to dive deeper. Whether you're seeking prayer suggestions or ways to engage more fully with the parish, the guide will be a helpful resource. We especially encourage core team members, catechists, members of small groups, and all who desire to engage in our mission here at St. Dominic to download or take a guide. Request a guide.

You will continue to see these values highlighted in meetings and parish events, and we are excited to see how they will inspire and shape our community as we grow together in faith.
