The Bells of St. Dominic
Did you hear bagpipes and bells ringing during the day a few weeks ago? Well, the church bells have a new ring to them. Funded by a bequest, the new carillon arrived a few weeks ago. The existing system was 10 years past the life expectancy and worked via tapes similar to an 8-track. (If you don't know what that is, google it!)
The new system plays two ways. Songs were recorded by the manufacturer's bell system and are played through speakers. The actual bells in our tower will ring in the near future. Unfortunately, the final connections fell victim to the manufacturer's temporary closing in Ohio.
