Voting with a Conscience
This 3-part series on Tuesdays invites all adults to join us in focusing on how to meet our civic responsibilities in light of the gospel. Whether it is your first time voting or your 51st time voting, exercising our civic responsibilities as a disciple of Jesus Christ can be challenging. These sessions will not tell you how to vote but inform you on what to consider as a Catholic disciple when voting.
September 24 - Part 1: Provides a foundation for understanding the issues that face our country from a Catholic perspective. The Catholic Social Teachings establish the perspective Catholics are to have when making decisions.
October 1 - Part 2: Shares guidance provided by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops document, "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship: A Call to Political Responsibility from the Catholic Bishops of the United States (2015).
October 8 -Part 3: Helps us take the Catholic principals we have learned and apply them to our modern political reality. We will examine the role of the media in forming our political consciences, analyze public policy in light of Catholic Social Teaching, and provide pointers for how to prayerfully approach the election season with hope and humility.
