Deacon Jim Matthias
As a parish member since 1991, Deacon Jim has been blessed to receive inspiration from the Holy Spirit by witnessing the actions of so many parishioners and clergy. Their devotion to the Gospel and striving to live its words in their own lives pushed him to become a better version of himself. Deacon Jim credits the Saturday morning men’s group, That Man is You, the Tuesday night faith group and the Knights of Columbus for the positive influence they made in his life and in others.
Ordained as a permanent deacon for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on September 8, 2018, Deacon Jim looks forward to assisting the Church in liturgy, helping the school and community through service, and being a herald of the Gospel in both word and action. He hopes to serve God prayerfully and with joy in his heart.
In 1980, Deacon Jim married Rhonda, his high school sweetheart. Together, they raised three boys: Jim, Jeff, and Greg. They are blessed with daughter-in-laws; Laura and Julia, and are proud grandparents to three grandchildren: Claire, Jimbo, and Hannah.
Deacon Jim currently works as the operations manager for Pro-Life Wisconsin. This organization works to protect life from the womb to the tomb and restore a culture of life through education, activation, legislation, and prayer.
