The third oldest of seven children all born and raised in Brookfield, my roots here run deep. I attended Saint John Vianney grade school, Marquette University High School, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I played Elmbrook Youth Hockey, Elmbrook Little League, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. My siblings and I were very close growing up, and we remain close today.
At UW-Madison, I majored in finance and accounting. During college, I founded and ran a business with siblings: Sweeney's Aquatic Weed Removers LLC. But my most important involvement was with Saint Paul’s University Catholic Center. There, I began to pray daily. And as my relationship with God grew, I began to imagine myself as a priest! Not yet ready to answer the call, I graduated from UW and took a job with Cleary Gull investment banking in Milwaukee. I worked for three years and became increasingly convinced of God’s call to the priesthood, so I quit my job and entered the seminary. That was six years ago, and I never looked back.
I am so grateful God has called me to be his priest. I hope that as a priest, I can be a living sign of God's presence in our lives now and a reminder of our heavenly homeland in the life to come. Please pray for me, and know of my prayers for all of you.
