Welcome! Children's ministry seeks to provide kids in pre-school through grade 5 with the knowledge, experiences, and skills necessary to become faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus by building relationships with them, being examples for them, and teaching them God's Word. We encourage parents, as the primary role models of a faith-filled life, to partner with us in the faith formation of their children through involvement in our ministry.
We prepare students for their first Holy Communion and first reconciliation through our formation classes.
We value and care for each of the children entrusted to us. All catechists are safeguarding trained through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee program and submit to a thorough background check. St. Dominic Catholic Parish and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to creating an environment of healthy and responsible relationships where all of God's family will be able to work, live and play. For more information or to register for a training please visit: Safeguarding: Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Children's formation classes are offered September through May for children in K3 through grade 5. Registration begins in May. Sadlier textbooks are used in the program. The Sadlier Website is a great resource for families and catechists.
Kairos for Kids is our new preschool program on Sunday mornings in the Marcy Center. Kairos for Kids is similar to Children's Liturgy of the Word, which is open to all 3 and 4 year old children of the parish to meet and learn more about God in reference to the Sunday's readings. Best of all, there is no charge for this program!
Sunday K5 classes are held from 9:00-10:15 AM. Tuesday classes for K5-grade 5 are held from 6:15-7:30 PM and this year, Thursday classes are held from 4:45-6:00 PM due to schedule changes in our local school districts. Classes provide formal religious education that is intended to support the faith development of the child in the family. A wide variety of age-appropriate learning strategies are used. Students in all levels participate in service opportunities and prayer experiences.
Each summer St. Dominic offers kids a fun, engaging, hands-on Bible-learning experience through a Totally Catholic Vacation Bible School program. A new theme is selected each year. Children are divided into groups by age/grade and participate in activities including Bible Adventure , Imagination Station, & Stampede Sports. Information and Registration materials are made available in Spring.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is an alternative worship experience for children in grades one through four. During most 9:00 AM Sunday Masses, children are offered the opportunity to leave the worshiping community for simplified readings and reflections on the readings. Children return to the assembly at the presentation of the gifts. Sessions are led by an adult and assisted by confirmation candidates and other high school students.
CLOW is open to any child who would benefit from this type of worship experience and is willing to behave in a manner appropriate for regular worship. There is no registration; children may choose to participate week to week.
The Kids Bulletin is a weekly pamphlet made available in both church narthexes. These pamphlets contain activities based on the Sunday Gospel. Many young children use these pamphlets during Mass to help stay focused. Other families use the pamphlets as a "take home" activity to share together.
Magnifikid! is designed for children age 6-12. It is a tool to help kids follow along with Scripture readings and parts of the Sunday Mass, explain new or different concepts, and offers suggestions on how to live out our faith in daily life. They are available in both narthexes for use and should be returned for use by other children. Subscriptions are available for purchase at Magnifikid.
Kids, pick up a Seek & Find book on your way into church. They are found in both church narthexes. Look at the photo in the book and see how many of the items you can find in the church. Each book is slightly different, so choose an new book each week.
