Welcome! Children's ministry seeks to provide kids in pre-school through grade 6 with the knowledge, experiences, and skills necessary to become faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus by building relationships with them, being examples for them, and teaching them God's Word. We encourage parents, as the primary role models of a faith-filled life, to partner with us in the faith formation of their children through involvement in our ministry.
The Kids Bulletin is a weekly pamphlet made available in both church narthexes. These pamphlets contain activities based on the Sunday Gospel. Many young children use these pamphlets during Mass to help stay focused. Other families use the pamphlets as a "take home" activity to share together.
Magnifikid! is designed for children age 6-12. It is a tool to help kids follow along with Scripture readings and parts of the Sunday Mass, explain new or different concepts, and offers suggestions on how to live out our faith in daily life. They are available in both narthexes for use and should be returned for use by other children.
We prepare students for their first Holy Communion and first reconciliation through our formation classes.
We value and care for each of the children entrusted to us. All catechists are safeguarding trained through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee program and submit to a thorough background check. St. Dominic Catholic Parish and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to creating an environment of healthy and responsible relationships where all of God's family will be able to work, live and play. For more information or to register for a training please visit: Safeguarding: Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Children's formation classes are offered September through May for children in K3 through grade 6. Registration begins in May. Sadlier textbooks are used in the program. Their website is a great resource for families and catechists.
This program meets during the 9:00 AM Mass and uses art, music, Scripture stories, and a variety of other activities to enable little children to participate in the faith life of the community at their own level and ability. Children must be at least three years of age by September 1st of the year of enrollment.
Tuesday classes are held from 6:15 PM - 7:30 PM. Thursday classes are held from 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM. Classes provide formal religious education that is intended to support the faith development of the child in the family. A wide variety of age-appropriate learning strategies are used. Students in all levels participate in service opportunities and prayer experiences.
While we recommend that all children receive their formal catechesis within Children's Ministry or our day school classes, we recognize that there are circumstances where home schooling is preferred. Second graders must attend formation classes due to preparation and exclusive activities. If you are considering home schooling, please contact our Director of Children's Ministry.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is an alternative worship experience for children in grades one through four. During most 9:00 AM Sunday Masses, children are offered the opportunity to leave the worshiping community for simplified readings and reflections on the readings. Children return to the assembly at the presentation of the gifts. Sessions are led by an adult and assisted by confirmation candidates and other high school students.
CLOW is open to any child who would benefit from this type of worship experience and is willing to behave in a manner appropriate for regular worship. There is no registration; children may choose to participate week to week.
