Welcome! Child Ministry seeks to provide children in pre-school through grade 5 with the knowledge, experiences, and skills necessary to become faithful and fruitful disciples of Jesus by building relationships with them, being examples for them, and teaching them God's Word. We encourage parents as the primary educators of their children to partner with us in the faith formation of their children through involvement in our ministry.
All children who are of the age of reason (age 7) are eligible to prepare for their first Holy Communion. For children over the age of 8 years old, please contact Mrs. Irvine. Preparation includes:
We value and care for each of the children entrusted to us. All catechists and volunteers 18+ are Safeguarding All God's Family trained through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee program and submit to a thorough background check. St. Dominic Catholic Parish and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to creating an environment of healthy and responsible relationships where all of God's family will be able to work, live and play. For more information or to register for a training please visit: Safeguarding: Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

Child Ministry formation classes are offered September through May for children in K3 through grade 5. Registration begins in spring. Sadlier textbooks are used in the program, along with supplemental materials from various resources including Catholicicing.com, Loyola Press, and Real Life at Home.
Karios for Kids is our preschool program on Sunday mornings in the Marcy Center. Kairos for Kids is similar to Children's Liturgy of the Word, but provides an hour-long session for children to meet, do activities, and learn more about God in reference to the Sunday's readings. Best of all, there is no fee for this program!
Sunday K5: 9:00-10:15 AM.
Monday K5-grade 5: 4:45-6:00 PM
Tuesday K5-grade 5: 6:15-7:30 PM.
Classes provide formal religious education to support the faith development of the child. A wide variety of age-appropriate learning strategies are used. All students participate in service opportunities and prayer experiences. Families are invited to special class nights throughout the year to support faith formation as a family, the domestic church.
Thank you to those families who have signed their children up for Monumental Vacation Bible School for this summer. We are happy to report we are full for this year.
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) is an alternative worship experience for children in grades one through four. During most 9:00 AM Sunday Masses during the academic year, children are offered the opportunity to leave the worshiping community for simplified readings and reflections and discussion on the readings. Children return to the assembly at the presentation of the gifts. Sessions are led by an adult and assisted by confirmation candidates and other high school students.
CLOW is open to any child who would benefit from this type of worship experience and is willing to behave in a manner appropriate for regular worship. There is no registration; children may choose to participate week to week.
