Mrs. Sue Oberling
Extended Care Assistant
Office: 262.783.7565, Ext. 276
Mrs. Oberling was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan where she attended a Catholic grade school and Dominican High School, an all girls prep school. She then graduated from Wayne State University where she obtained a Liberal Arts degree in French and Education. She began her career teaching French in the middle school and high school level for 7 years. Then, she stayed home to raise her family of 4 for a few years.
In 1983, her family moved to Brookfield and became members of St. Dominic Catholic Parish. At that time, Mrs. Oberling became more interested in teaching at the early childhood level and thus worked for over 25 years as a caregiver of preschoolers. For ten years during this time, she had the opportunity to work with special needs children, immersing regular education preschoolers with the early childhood program at Burleigh Elementary School. Since 2009, she has worked with the after school St. Dominic Extended Care program.
Mrs. Oberling loves seeing the K3, K4, and K5 children. They have fun playing with friends, learning new songs and doing art projects together. Her goal for the children is to provide a safe and fun place for them, while waiting for their parents to arrive. Also, because of her love of French, she still tutors high school students from Brookfield East High School.
In her free time, Mrs. Oberling loves to read, travel and bike with her husband. She also enjoys spending time with her 3 grandchildren.
