Mrs. Julia Fons
K5 Classroom Aide
Office: 262.783.7565, Ext. 275
Mrs. Julia Fons grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Mount Mary University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. However, teaching and service have always been a part of her life. She learned how to play guitar while in grade school, then taught other grade school children, only a few years younger, how to play guitar. Julia taught religious education classes to 5th graders while a college student and was an active lector at her home parish of Mother of Good Counsel during her high school and college years. Being a lector continued after she married Richard (also a Milwaukee native) when they were members of St. William Parish in Waukesha.
Julia began her career after college working in banking, and then was fortunate to be a stay-at-home Mom when their 3 children came along. After their youngest began school at Blessed Sacrament in Milwaukee, she began volunteering in the kindergarten and first grade rooms, which then turned into a staff position.
Julia has served Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee since 2000 as a classroom aide, first at Blessed Sacrament, then St. Roman and St. Alphonsus schools, with nearly all those years in 5-year-old kindergarten. Mrs. Fons absolutely loves working with kindergarten age children! Their enthusiasm for learning and their growth during this year is amazing to witness! Julia has been here at St. Dominic since 2019 and feels very blessed to be working in K5.
When she isn’t busy with the students, she enjoys reading, watching movies, decorating her house for the seasons, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Fons and her husband, Richard, have three grown children and two young grandsons. Their home parish is St. Alphonsus in Greendale.
