Mrs. Susan Shorts
Middle School Math Teacher
Having been a middle school teacher for the last 34 years, Mrs. Shorts has worked with students of all abilities and backgrounds. She believes that even though each student is unique, one commonality of all her students is that they all are capable of learning and her job is to help them achieve their goals.
Mrs. Shorts graduated from Carroll College with a bachelor’s of science degree in elementary education and then earned her master’s degree in teacher development from Marian College. She taught for five years in Milwaukee Public Schools and then went to the Wauwatosa School District and taught at Longfellow Middle School for another 29 years. She has taught English, reading, science, social studies, and math, but her favorite has always been math, which is what she has taught for about the last 20 years.
Mrs. Shorts enjoys spending time with her family and friends. They enjoy hiking, playing games, going to church, or just watching T.V. shows and movies, as long as they are together.
