Revel in the Grace

We would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy Easter and start to the Easter season. Easter is the very bedrock of our faith: Christ rises in glory and wins victory for us over death! Think for a moment from a puritanically historical lens at the time of why this is so important (you’ll have to forgive my former social studies teacher brain here) – all of the leading religions at the time, whether they were polytheistic or monotheistic, believed that once a person had died, that was essentially it. There was no true hope of what would come next or what would await someone after they had died.

And then Christianity’s greatest miracle happened – Jesus gives of himself freely to redeem mankind that had been steeped in sin. Bearing the weight of humanity’s failings and shortcomings, Jesus opens his arms wide to accept the punishment. After descending into death for 3 days, he is resurrected and even visits with those whom he was closest with. After departing from them, the disciples then began to share his message and the promise of eternal life in heaven for any and all
people! Truly, what an amazing moment in human history and one that continues to this day over 2000 years later.

Take time this Easter to revel in that grace that has been given to you and to all people of the world. Take time as a family to offer up prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for all of the blessings that you have. God bless you.
