Welcome Ms. Colleen Rooney!

Greetings, St. Dominic Catholic School Community,

My name is Colleen Rooney. I am thrilled to be your next principal, and I look forward to getting to know you more in person. Catholic Education has always been something near and dear to my heart, as I was fortunate to attend a Catholic elementary and high school in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I went on to study at Marquette University, earning a degree in Communication and Secondary Education. After serving several years as a high school English teacher while working part-time in ministry, I decided to get my administration license and MBA. I graduated in December of 2020 from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with an MBA in Education Leadership. My previous administrative experience includes serving as Dean of Instruction at the Hope Schools and as Principal of Blessed Savior Catholic School.

I am excited to bring my passion for both quality education and my Catholic faith to the St. Dominic community. When I am not sharing my faith or working, I am a busy mom to an energetic, curious nine-year-old as well as a six-year-old retriever mix. I enjoy cooking, camping, running, exploring new wineries, and pretty much any outdoor adventure! My immediate goals are to build relationships with my new staff and set a clear vision for the upcoming school year. I look forward to the work ahead, and I am excited to share my gifts with the St. Dominic community. God bless you all, and thank you for the warm welcome.
