Welcome our New 2nd Grade Teacher!

We are happy to introduce the newest member of our St. Dominic school staff, Mrs. Katie Evans. The interview team loved her positive energy, and our students will too! Thank you in advance for making her feel welcome!

My name is Mrs. Katie Evans and I am very excited to join the St. Dominic family as 2nd grade teacher. I attended St. Norbert College and graduated with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in English as a Second Language in 2013. I also hold a reading specialist license from Carroll University which I received in 2023.

I grew up in Racine, WI and attend church at St. Lucy's. I have a sister who is a nurse who lives in Iowa. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and spending time with my new husband, Troy. I married Troy at St. Dominic on July 27th this year! I felt called by the Holy Spirit not only to get married at St. Dominic's but when I heard about the 2nd grade position as I was preparing for the wedding, I knew that it was a sign from above to join the St. Dominic family.

Jesus is at the center of everything I do. From using prayer to thank God for the amazing things he has done and during times of trial to helping children see and feel his abundant love through learning about all the aspects of his life and ministry and learning about and preparing for the sacraments, God is the center of everything. I have been a Catholic School teacher for ten years and cannot wait to continue spreading the good news. I am excited to continue educating children with God at my side, helping make disciples of Jesus Christ.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Katie Evans
